Honor societies

Most departments offer students an opportunity to join a national honor society. These groups typically cater to upper-class students who are interested in preparing for a career, and they offer links to professional resources in their field, as well as community and social interactions.

Students usually must meet certain criteria to be admitted into an honor society. These groups usually hold monthly meetings and collect dues for membership. Listed below are several examples. Be sure to check with your academic adviser for opportunities that fit your interests.
